Geography

Geography forms part of the wider curriculum and is an enquiry led subject. We believe it is vital that children are equipped with the tools to question the world around them and discover answers to their own curiosities. We aim to ensure that all children at Shipton Bellinger Primary School develop a genuine love for geography through local field trips and engaging lessons. We promote curiosity and fascination about the world. Children are motivated to gather information using observations and geographical questioning.  Children will consider their impact on the local environment and how this can have a continued global impact. They think about whether these are human or physical.  We aim to instil in our children that geography equips them with knowledge about diverse places, people and the natural world. Our learners will develop a contextual knowledge of the location of globally significant places, including their physical and human characteristics.
